The Super Bowl Host Committee is committed to providing you all the information you need to Know Before You Go downtown to enjoy Super Bowl XLVI. In addition to the game itself, downtown Indianapolis will host over 100 public and private events beginning January 27, including the NFL Experience and Super Bowl Village on Georgia Street.
With the volume of activities, thousands of additional visitors expected in Indianapolis from January 27 to February 5, 2012, and the security measures in place for the game itself, there will be traffic restrictions in and around Lucas Oil Stadium, the Indiana Convention Center, and the Super Bowl Village on Georgia Street.
This pedestrian-friendly plan will provide safe and efficient access to downtown for local workers and residents, while ensuring the safe and efficient flow of traffic and pedestrians around the events for visitors.
Five things you need to Know Before You Go in order to best navigate downtown Indianapolis:
1. Downtown street restrictions and Super Bowl Village Deliveries: learn which streets are closed to all non-emergency vehicles and which are restricted only to garage access and delivery vehicles, along with delivery procedures to Super Bowl Village and Lucas Oil Stadium. Turn off your GPS device; it will not account for Super Bowl street restrictions! Click here to view and print all maps. Excludes delivery and volunteer maps.
2. Recommended routes to navigate downtown: learn how to avoid the streets that are closed and utilize the "Super" Route or the "Bowl" Route.
3. Best route into downtown: check your interstate routes and downtown interchanges to learn if any are closed or congested.
4. Parking downtown: find the most convenient parking tips for getting to work, Super Bowl events, and the Super Bowl game while avoiding street restrictions.
Reserve a Park and Ride space at one of three locations for a convenient, low-cost parking option.
5. Alternatives to driving your car downtown: find out how to let someone else do the driving.
